There’s few places left where I can call at 830am and get a live human directly. There’s even fewer places that will have a fan motor replacement and will help walk you through replacing a blower motor with cross reference parts. 5 Stars isn’t enough of a good review. No crazy upcharge or fighting to provide the aftermarket cheaper model of a part. Seriously, this is why we shop local. I was able to have a 24 hour turn around between our ECM motor from 2008 dying in the heat of August - to a replacement motor installed for 75% less than a service call. I put these guys up there with some of the best experiences I have had, thanks Lance !!

So our adventure started at 9pm on Friday night Memorial Day weekend when we noticed the temperature in the house hit 81 degrees. Great. As usual, perfect timing. I looked at the Trane ac unit and inspected the air handler in the house but didn't see anything unusual. I checked the filter. I went out to the compressor and did notice that the outside fan was on but not the compressor. To make a long story short, I used a multimeter and found the silver run capacitor was bad. It had a 0 ohm reading. (anyone can perform this test-don't forget to shut off the electric! It's silver small energy drink size can) It's a dual cap and runs the compressor and fan. I also checked the contactor (it was good) for dead ants, lizards and condition. These two parts seem to fail the most. Trane also has a black cylinder shaped hot start Capacitor but it tested ok. I pulled both anyway and went to Appliance Parts Saturday morning and bought both. I couldn't believe that during this Corona stuff and being a holiday weekend they were open. They were super friendly, tested my caps (black housing hot start cap was bad too as I expected! (It was 11 yrs old) and sold me the right parts. What a life saver on the start of a holiday weekend plus saved me $400 emergency service call! The 2 parts were $70. 5 Stars for Appliance & AC Parts! I'll be back again as a new customer for AC and appliance needs!
